– Impressions from Our Solstice Sunset Hike –

/ June 22, 2018

It was a wonderful Midsummer Night!
–    full of wilderness, the smell of the herbs and authentic Zakynthian experience.

We started our hike at the Giatras Museum in the village. The owner opened the doors for our visit and we could see the old olivepress, giant stone constructions and restored amphoras for the oliveoil. He told us lively stories from the past, about the history of his family and the village.

Walking through the quaint village we reached our path and a gorgeous open view to the Western sky, surrounded by juicy green hills and the blue horizon in front of us.

A hidden spot (not easy to find if you don’t know the place) led us to our magnificent Solstice Sunset Experience. The sun. The open sea. Nothing more to say… <3

On our way back, scented by herbs and flowers, some of us collected thyme, throuby and other delicious plants, that we got to know here. That’s why we always have a paperbag with us, to bring your nature memories save back home 😉

The sound of the nightjar (Who is that? What does he look like?) and a personal story about the barn owl with her sudden appearance in the end made it a perfect Midsummer Night experience.
Thank you for coming with us!
